Dagger solilaquy
In the dagger soliloquy Macbeth is going mad because he has to question what is reality. Macbeth has reached in front of him for a dagger that was not there staring his confusion of what is real. "Is this a dagger which I see before me,"(2.1.33) This shows that Macbeth is hallucinating. When he starts to see the dagger that is not there is the start of his madness. He starts to imagine false object that aren't there. People don't have to question what's real proving Macbeth has gone mad. Macbeth also imagines the one he is about to kill and talks to him as if he was there. "Or else worth all the rest. I see thee still/And on thy blade and dudgeon gouts of blood." (2.1.45-46) Macbeth still thinks he has a dagger in his hand but now has stabbed the air and thinks there is blood on it from stabbing the king. Macbeth is delusional and is not like normal. So for going to commit murder it made something click inside making him go mad.
